Weekend in Review!

This weekend we attended the funeral services for Greg's aunt. It makes you realize how short life is and that we need to enjoy each day and never take our loved ones for granted...

Saturday I spent 2 hours at Huntsville High School for a JV tennis match. In the wind, but after hearing a co-worker today talk about her daughter's pain/and after 2 months now starting physical therapy to walk I am honored to brave the wind for Kacey... I get to sit out and watch her.. I'll post pictures later. During this time, Greg was with Grace at the Softball Clinic... a busy weekend.

Saturday night and Sunday we attended the services for Sheila. My heart breaks for her husband. Please continue to remember them all in your prayers...

Have a good week!

TGIF!

TGIF ~ Thank Goodness it's Friday and Thank goodness........

Thank you Lord for my husband and sweet daughters. I am so blessed.

I'm thankful for my wonderful friend that sent me the most precious handwritten note, that I got snail mail yesterday. It was just what I needed when I needed it. Thank you. You are always an encourager to me.

Thank you for My parents, and all my extended family, Thank you for my Sisters that I don't get to see or do much with right now because we are all crazy busy, but I'm thankful to know they are there when I need them.

Thank you Lord for the Sun today, we are ready for it to stay for awhile!

Thank you Lord for my new Steam mop, that it's easy and fast!

Thank you Lord for our Crockpot, with us coming and going so much it is getting a workout! Last week we tried a new recipe for Ribs, I put them in before work and when we got home they were done and good, we'll be using that recipe again! Wed night I put a Roast in there and added the vegetables before work yesterday and it was so nice to come home last night and just eat! I need some other recipes if you have a favorite fast and easy crockpot recipe I can try.

I'm thankful for our health today that we are all healthy...

and today I'm thankful for Rosie's at lunch!

Today!

13 years ago today Papaw Narrell went home to be with the Lord.
Today another of his precious Daughters went to join him.
Although, we are so sad and you are never ready to say goodbye I can imagine their is a party going on today in heaven. There is a homecoming!
Change is hard especially when your family tree changes so much over time and you lose so many of your loved ones. But God is good all the time. And with each earthly lose Heaven gets even sweeter! Today I rejoice in the fact that Sheila is not in pain anymore.
And she is in the arms of our Savior!
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

Kids!

I think sometimes Kacey tells me things and then quickly thinks and WHY DID I THINK I COULD TELL MY MOMMA!
Last night Kacey: Momma it was so funny!
Me ~ What?
Kacey ~ Andrew had on my Tennis skirt over his jeans and....
Me ~ ( I interrupted to blurt) He'll stretch it! WHAT? WHY? HOW DID HE GET YOUR SKIRT?
Kacey ~ Wide eyed (and I am sure at this point thinking I should have stayed quiet) He got it out of my purse.
Me ~ Why was it in your purse?
Kacey ~ I wore it during PE
Me ~ Your tennis skirt that is your uniform, that you only supposed to wear at Tennis until after season, since you only have one.... tennis skirt (I am sure I had the head bob to go with this)
Kacey ~ That would be the one, you should have seen Mrs. Brock's face
Me ~ (interrupting again) Mrs. Brock? Kacey, was this during class?
Kacey ~ ahhh yes
Me ~ and you do not get in trouble for all this?
Kacey ~ you see Andrew's Mom and Mrs Brock are really good friends....
Me ~ I see, you are not to wear your tennis skirt at PE anymore until after season.
Kacey ~ yes Ma'am
(And I might add a laughing Husband is no help with dealing with teenage girls since he was once the teenage boy that would have easily worn a tennis skirt at one time)
_______________________________________
Grace - Momma, I think there is a dirty word in my book will you look at it?
Me ~ Sure
Grace ~ I think it means the same thing as something else but I wanted you to check
Me ~ Well Baby, it's not a dirty word but it's not a nice word. You shouldn't call anyone a dimwit it would be like calling someone stupid...
Grace ~ That's what I thought, Thank you Momma!
Me ~ Your welcome baby...
Again, a laughing husband trying to hide his laughter is NO HELP!
Just another day in Paradise!

Today!

Do you ever have days that you feel like you can't keep up... bills, kids, running, housework! Well I've been having one of those weeks...
Saturday I got a past due bill in the mail...
I would have told you I had paid it... I would have been very confident.
I looked back in our checkbook and NOPE I didn't. Man!
It's paid now....
Then on Monday on the way to the car for school
Grace ~ Momma I saw this on the counter it is due today or I will not be able to go.
Me ~ No baby we have til the 22nd
Grace ~ Mommmaaaaaa it is the 22nd...
Me ~ Oh it is, here let me have it, there signed. Thank you for keeping me straight...
Grace ~ but Momma I need the $2 to go with it...
Me ~ Grace I don't have any money on me at all
Kacey (opening her purse) ~ How much do you need Grace?
Grace ~ $2, Thank you Kacey
Me ~ Yes thank you Kacey and I'll pay you back tonight...
Now I ask you what is wrong with this picture? Who's the Mom anyway!
Lord Slow me down and help me regroup!

First Match!

Warning: Lots of pictures, working on a scrapbook you know!
Arab Jr Varsity vs. Oneonta
This afternoon, Kacey had her first ever "official" tennis match. She was a bundle of nerves and excitement. Her first match was a doubles match.
Her first serve.
Waiting on Kelsey to serve.
The did really well.
And these beautiful ladies won their match 8-1.
Great job girls we are so proud of you!
Kelsey/Kacey
Waiting on her Singles match... Did I mention it was cold? What you can not see in this picture is her legs were shaking a mixture of nerves/excitement/nervousness and trying to stay warm!

Her first Singles match waiting on the serve!

Her first serve...

And she won 8 - 0! Pretty good for a first Match.
Kacey Narrell cold cheering section.. Minus the Momma walking around with a camera! Dad and Grace sat for about an hour of it in the truck with the heater going. I visited to thaw....

No Not Me Monday!

Being honest and living to tell about it... join the fun... http://www.mycharmingkids.net/
I did Not spend time Saturday cleaning and notice for every one thing I would clean 10 more awaited me so I did NOT just stop and take a nap... NOPE not me!
I did NOT take a walk yesterday through a fresh mowed pasture only to be up half the night with my Asthma. My sweet husband did NOT have to do the AWANA opening ceremony and I did NOT get worse when I laid down in the bed. I did Not have to use my inhaler 2X and a breathing treatment for it to improve. It was NOT after Midnight before Greg or I got any sleep. NOPE Not us, I would always think about things like that before I got trapezing around outdoors...
I have not finished my So Long insecurity Bible study and it was NOT wonderful, I did NOT learn so much! I did NOT enjoy it so much that I am not listening to it again so I can follow along with Beth Moore on her Blog and participate in the discussion group she holds on Thursdays.
I've NOT been on eBay and I've NOT ordered 10 more books.. NOPE NOT ME!
We did NOT have a date night on Friday night only to wait 1 hour and 10 minutes to be seated and after 30 minutes they did NOT come to our table and apologize that they had lost our order and were starting it then we did NOT have to rush at that point to eat and get back to pick up our Youth from a party.. NOPE NOT US, our plans always work out to a T. We did NOT make lemonade out of lemons and enjoyed our night anyway! And we DID NOT eat two baskets of Rolls and Salad while we were waiting and were NOT barely even hungry by the time our real food came. NOPE NOT US!
I did NOT for the first time EVER drop of my youngest after waiting in line at the JR. high for my oldest in a day that traffic was really backed up late at the elem. late. As in 7:31 1 min!
The side doors were NOT already locked and she was NOT traumatized and she did NOT have to get back in the car to drive around to the front. Her SWEET teacher did make her go the office so she did get a tardy for that we are thankful... thank you sweet teacher.. So I was NOT grumpy Mom this morning getting them up and in the car early to beat the bad traffic. NOPE NOT ME!
Happy Monday.

Saturday!

I love Saturday's... Especially ones like today... We've had such a good day... A productive and fun day! Friday night, Kacey had a youth party and then Kimber spent the night. Well I just need to tell them the next time you use my camera and leave oh, lets say 200 silly Kacey and Kimber pictures on my card, either erase them or be prepared for me to use them. Isn't this one good of them?
But this one is true Kacey and Kimber there were more good ones, like this but I think I'll save those for their senior yearbook!
Greg went hunting this morning and I've never been so glad that he didn't even get to shoot his gun, see he went rabbit hunting a first for him but I think he just went for fun anyway, he ended up leaving his gun in the truck and just enjoying the company. This afternoon, he cleaned the yard up and then had some fun with Grace. Grace came home a few weeks ago and gave us a permission slip to attend a clinic that is coming up for softball, where that came from I do not know but she is going to see if she likes it before signing up and committing to a season.

Nice hit!
And I think the birds were happy to see the sunshine today. This little fellow was trying to build a nest in the carport and was not happy when I would try to deter him.... He might be little but he could make some noise!
Tonight Grace and I attended a children's party at church. They had game night and they had lots of fun. I love Saturday's that are so wonderful... Happy Saturday, hope you enjoyed the sunshine today and enjoy the Sonshine tomorrow....
Happy Saturday!

In all things....

I was inspired by a fellow blogger and decided to take part in a challenge. I've been working on this challenge since 2/9.. I'll just tell you it is a challenge to find the beauty in things we might be tempted to be annoyed by! Sound interesting to you.. Come on and join the challenge and be humbled by how Good God is and sometimes I so take my blessings for granted..

Okay, admit it - we all do it, get irritated when our children ...

leave the door open
throw their dirty clothes all over the place
leave a trail of toys throughout the house
track in mud
lose one shoe or grab one of two kinds of shoes!
leave their balls/bats and other stuff out in the rain!
leave a bathroom sink full of smeared toothpaste! (this drives me nuts!)
forget to flush the toilet
borrow my clothes and throw them on their floor or put them where neither of us can find them.
play their games/music so loud, I can't hear my self think!
wipe their dirty hands on their clothes, the couch or your clothes
change clothes 3 times in the morning before they find something they want to wear!
Leave the lunch you packed them on the floor in the mornings (just this morning as a matter of fact but I saw it and snagged it for her)

Should I go on? You know I can!

Well, I know that one day I'm going to miss those things. I'm going to laugh as I remember them. So today, I'll remember...just how beautiful it is to be blessed with children in our homes. If we have been given precious children to care for, let's make sure we enjoy each and every...

load of dirty laundry
snotty nose/breathing treatments
eye rolls
Mom I'm hungry
hurt foot (from stepping on a polly pocket or lego)
lost remote control
lost pair of pants
marked up wall Grace once destroyed two pair of my shoes with a green marker! (mind you she was 2)
finger up their nose in public (well that was a long time ago too!)
fingerprint or writing on mirror! Kacey writes on my Kitchen door everyday in the steam ~on the window... Write on baby girl!

"In everything give THANKS for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you!"
I love my little girls, I choose to see beauty in the things that might irritate me, and if I blow it and get irritated, I choose to repent and be grateful again. I have a challenge for you. In the next week I want you to take your irritants and turn them to blessings. My list has changed over the years as the girls have grown and I can honestly say, those things that used to bother me, I miss because with each passing phase, once it's gone, it's gone ~ no going back so I choose to be happy today because today it is a choice and I choose to make the most of each moment~ I love you Kacey and Grace!

Snow Fun!

Click play but don't forget to stop the music on the sidebar!

Snow Day Fun!

We love snow! Friday after Valentine parties/getting out of school early and waiting on Greg to get home from work... Which just for us, he slipped out a little early.

We even made a snowman, Kacey named him snowy ~ The brother she never wanted...

We had lots of fun!

My Valentine!

Greg pulled a limb and dumped snow on the girls about the time I took this one!
4-wheelin fun!
I may feel to old today to have participated, but it was fun while we were doing it! No pictures of Kacey since sledding involved the 4-wheeler and since her last mishap Kacey is anti anything to do with 4-wheelers! Too much fun!
At the end of the day we had a tracked up soggy messing yard but a beautiful sunset and one happy family! Greg took these pictures of the sunset...

Gorgeous huh?
So, this was our Friday and it was GREAT!
Stop and smell the roses or in this case, stop and have a snowball fight..
Living life and loving it!

Full friday!

Grace had her Valentine Party today, Early ~ due to snow and school letting out early.

My beautiful girl! Growing up to fast.

Then we went home and watched it snow and waited on Greg to come home to play!

We love snow!
Hope you enjoyed the snow!
