Wonderful Wednesday!

After going to bed last night not feeling well, it was a GREAT blessing to have such a good morning. This is not a NOT ME MONDAY but in all honesty there are mornings at the Narrell household where we run late, everyone is cranky and things don't go well and when they get out of the car I always think what happened, you can't get those mornings back so what can I do to change them. Truth is with girls and hair/emotions and just life there isn't much we can do except PRAISE GOD when we have those mornings that they get out of the car and you say Thank you Lord we started our day so great. And with Kacey deciding to go curly today, the way God made her instead of straight we had 20 extra minutes this morning WOW! And in the container Grace is holding is Swimmy the turtle off to his first day of second grade. Grace asked permission from Mrs. Hunt yesterday to take him in and so she was really excited about it this morning. We even talked CRUSH ~ you know the turtle off Nemo... It's good when you look back on the morning and remember laughing hopefully those days will be more in abundance and the bumpy ones will become few!

Dad picked Grace up from Extended day yesterday they had a surprise for the girls. Kacey had ball practice but he is picking her up today...see the new baby chicks are here.... and

Guess what Dad found in the skimmer of the pool... a little Turtle.

The girls are in the process of deciding the poor fellows name. Swimmy ~ Cat ~ are a few of the crazy names that I've heard to date, I'll let you know when they decide on the "one".
Blurry I know.. I tried. But that's a peanut butter jar lid he is in so you see he is very small!

So last night "Turtle" slept in Kacey's room. Around 2 am I hear Grace and roll over and there she is in the bed with me... she has not done that in a year or more. She wasn't feeling just great I think the allergies are kicking her but she had been dreaming about yep the TURTLE and needed to check on it before sleeping. So off we go and yep still fine, still in the box. I think all that was the result of their sweet Daddy giving her a hard time before bed about hmm If that ends up in the bed with you don't say I didn't warn you... so as I tuck her in and lay back down in the bed and he snored, I remember to say thanks to my husband who lay oblivious to it all!

Not Me Monday!

It's that time again, Monday where we can be brutally honest and live to tell about it!

I did not go to see the new Hannah Montana movie this past weekend. I did not cry in one part, no not me. I'm much to stable to cry over a movie. (It was a really cute movie!)

My children and I did not pick up more than 20 five gallon buckets of pine cones on Saturday morning. We do not have that many in our yard and we enjoyed every second of it. I did not make them go back and forth with the buckets to empty while I filled them with my new easy grabber so I didn't have to bend over! NO NOT ME, I'm not that lazy..

I did obey all my Dr's orders this week and rest some... I did not over do it and I did not regret it! I always do as I'm told!'

I did not along with my youngest child have a near break down in walmart over a birthday cake... She did NOT change her mind 3 times before we ended up with a two themed cake, hey the girl knew what she wanted, they just needed to work with her!

I did not let my girls enjoy the sprinkler Sunday afternoon, and sidewalk chalk their body and then find them back under the sprinkler where we were watering our new seeds for grass. So they were a muddy mess, My kids would never do something so silly and get in trouble for it. No not mine!

I did not keep the nursery last night for revival and let one toddler lock himself in the potty. He said he could go by himself! When he unlocked the door to come out I did not almost pass out in relief that the door was open. I would never do that.

I had a wonderful morning too this morning so smooth, my gas light did NOT come on on our road and I did NOT have to take my wonderful husband his sugar tester, and I did NOT get to work late with still damp hair.. NOPE NOT ME! I did not also run through the Sonic drive thru to order a diet coke EXTRA ice to drown my sorrow! NOPE not me, I never have a pity party!

Weekend in review!

We started the day Sat with yard work and ended with a birthday party for Shea and Kailynn.

Sunday afternoon the girls went from the sprinkler on the trampoline to the driveway for what else but some sidewalk chalk fun. The next thing I knew they were painting themselves like Indians. Hmmm I guess we found a new way to entertain ourselves!

Friday's Field trip fun!

I got to be in the second grade again on Friday and enjoy a field trip to Constitution Village with Grace. We had a blast. Grace making a corn husk doll...

We ended up at the city park for a picnic and to play for awhile.

Friday was also report card day for Grace and progress report day for Kacey so we ended the night with dinner and a movie. We had a blast!

Kacey is having a busy week with School. Lots of test and homework. She is also stressing the next couple of weeks... Her first AAU tournament is approaching and 7th grade basketball tryouts for the Jr. High. Please pray that she'll have a good couple of weeks, no reflux and pray for me as I try to daily reminder her that she is a Child of the King and that's the most important thing.

Last night at GA's I was standing outside the girls door listening..... shhhh!

Last week they were working on braiding friendship bracelets and when I came back there Grace was frustrated! She had never braided anything.. hmm so Tuesday of this week we sat down and worked on it. I can braid but teaching someone is different than just doing it. Anyway, last night I heard Miss Mary say "Grace do you need help?" and Grace replied... "No, my Momma teached me!" Then Miss Mary said "Your Momma taught you!" she said yes Mam. Made my heart happy, but really makes you want to try harder to teach the good stuff...

The simple things!

Simple things that make us smile.

Sidewalk chalk = $1.89

but adds up to hours of fun.. I can't tell you the hours we've all spent with sidewalk chalk.

From Beach scenes that took up most of the driveway to the alphabet when they were learning to write their letters.... hmmm one of these days I'm really going to miss it!

Greg got in on the action yesterday ~ Grace is working on learning to write in cursive.

The only reason Kacey wasn't out there in the middle of it was... Yep basketball practice!

But warm weather is coming and I'm sure they'll be lots more opportunities!

Restful or Stressful?

Our weekend was a little of both! Started out with a call on Thursday from Greg! Kacey has two left shoes ~ GREAT! Let me explain on the days Kacey has AAU practice, she doesn't come home she takes her clothes to change into and after school when Greg picks her up she is ready to go straight to practice with sandwich in hand we pack ahead of time. Don't let the pretend face of organization fool you something always happens to make it interesting. Thursday when Greg picked her up she had picked up 2 left basketball shoes, only at the Narrell's would a girl have two pair of basketball shoes to even mix up. This being said it was not our night to carpool so Greg drops her off to meet her ride, and has some errands to run. I race home get the right shoe and race to the gym which is across from the lake and when we walk in the whole gym says There's the other shoe, she is playing in her ankle brace one shoe and her sock, she comes up grabs the shoe and was mumbling under her breathe ~ Thanks Mom ~ so Grace and I took a stroll to work off some stress!

In all the choas, we lost a tooth!

And now the stump is also gone!

Sunday night wind!

Did you hear the wind Sunday night? We sure did! We are fortunate the apple tree wasn't larger! We have some cleanup to do ~ 2 trees and lots of limbs but that is okay! I was sad it was my apple tree, but it could have been much worse. And nights like that I'm so thankful we had the pines around the house cut.

I don't know about you but I'm ready for some sunshine and for these storms to take a hike!
