Going through the motions!

First of all let me start by saying I do NOT doubt my salvation, I know that I rest in the arms of God but I do from time to time feel disconnected, like I'm just going through the motions... I know God hasn't moved it's me but I do feel that from time to time. I feel that way with our church from time to time like we are just going through the motions. I don't know about you but I don't want to JUST go through the motions, I want to live and live for him. I've felt this way recently and heard this song not for the first time but really listened. Got a minute? Take a listen! Don't forget to pause the music on the playlist!

Just okay is not enough! I don't want to spend one more day JUST going through the motions.....

Youth!

Flowers and Family!

We have lots of flower's around our home. Most have a story.... Remember this post.... http://narrellfamily.blogspot.com/2009/07/i-love-summer.html Well, these bushes are wild hibiscus. They are sprigs from Mamaw Narrell's plants (Greg's grandmother). She had them right beside her porch and as you would come in they were one of the first things you saw. Every time they bloom they are a sweet reminder of Mamaw and Papaw. So today, take the time to enjoy the flowers and family! They are both only here for a time.

Happy Thursday!
Just another day in Paradise!

Praying for Stellan

It's crazy to feel so connected to someone you've never met, but I do to this little boy, please say a prayer for Stellan, here is Mom's last tweets...

Stellan is no longer urinating, his Potassium is up, he is still in SVT, very swollen & at midnight he began incessant vomiting, 12 minutes ago
He will come back to the bedside shortly & we'll conference. Can I reiterate that these last many hours have not been good!? 13 minutes ago
Stellan is hanging in there, but is deteriorating. It's not good. Dr B is here on the floor, but off conferencing with other cardiologists. 18 minutes ago

Camping (Part 4)

Sunday after another big breakfast was the PACK UP! The worst part, Grace decided she'd rather play in the creek even though it had gone down to 50 degrees on Sunday morning.

We took the long way home and went through the Cherokee National Forest so the girls could see rafting on the Ocoee, it has evolved since Greg used to raft before we were married, In 1997 we visited on Kacey's first Vacation and they had made so many major adjustments. The 1996 Olympics were held in Atlanta and the rafting competition was on the Ocoee and the improvements were because of the Olympics.

That's it, we hope to go again next year with our camping buddies in tow!

Have a great Weekend!

Camping (Part 3)

If you are wondering why so many pics I saw on a blog a blogger that had her blog made into a book! GREAT idea, my own scrapbook. I have always wanted to scrapbook but never found the time, this is an easy way to do just that. http://amynjones.blogspot.com/2009/07/it-came.html just in case anyone else is interested! So this is for us more than anyone ~ Off to Cades Cove.

Cades Cove is an 11 mile loop where you are surrounded by the beauty of the mountains. GORGEOUS! We saw Turkey, Deer, Snakes. No Bears, We've seen bears 3 different times at Cades Cove but none last Saturday. Twice it was a Mother and Cubs. We stayed a safe distance and watched. Grace was disappointed but as you can see she found a stuffed bear she is holding to make her heart happy!
Lots of Deer!
We visited the settlement in Cades Cove and this is where we saw the Snake house, I kid you not, they had a note posted about it being a snake habitat it was a smokehouse originally but the snakes seem to have taken up residence, I was leaned over reading the note and Greg said Look, yep in between the logs there was one and I didn't stick around to take pictures, I was gone!
Below is at the Mill, the girls got to see them grinding corn.
Back at camp.
And the girls never tired of the river, and did I mention it was cold. After we tubed on Saturday afternoon, we were froze. It was a blast but it was a numbing cold. Yet, they still played in it again.....

At dark on Saturday the movie started, this is before it started, before the Bonn fire in the back and did I mention they had concessions with Pop Corn, hot chocolate and stuff!
Grace with her glow in the dark sticks!
And what's the smokies without Black eyed Susan's!
I warned you I have a flower fetish!
Happy Friday!

Camping (Part 2)

More camping pics...
Girls in the pool!
What's camping without a fire and smores!
When we went tubing we took the waterproof disposable but just in case they were great when we rafted by our campsite we took some pictures with my good camera. I know it looks pretty calm here so you don't get the same effect but when we did hit the rapids I couldn't take pictures anyway since I was hanging onto my raft with one hand and Grace's with the other, see we had this agreement, Greg you stick with Kacey and I'll stick with Grace so if we get separated we'll know they are with the other one. ahem Kacey was "missing" for about 15 minutes, a long 15, she had gotten ahead and was hanging onto a rock for the slow ones to catch up someone bumped her tube and she went further down so she wasn't missing just out of sight. I HATED IT! But once we got further down there she stood on the bank with that look like where have you been!

Friday night we went into Gatlinburg.
Putt Putt anyone!
Greg and Kacey won but Grace and I let them! ssshhhhhh!!
Did I mention we are getting older we like to sit and watch more than we used too.
Nothing like fresh morning air. Greg is our official cook camping.. I would opt for a cereal bar myself if I had to cook it but every morning we had Sop (chocolate gravy), biscuits, bacon and eggs! There goes my healthy eating trend! But it was soooo worth it!
That's it for now! Tomorrow we'll go to Cades Cove!
Happy Thursday!
