Heading Home!

Being a state park and with Sea turtles being endangered there are signs like this everywhere.
they had a sea turtle hospital as well.
One thing we've always done at the gulf was take flashlights out at night and hunt sand crabs, you can't do that here, it's illegal to protect the sea turtles since that is when they come up and lay eggs on the beaches...
We stopped to check out Tybee Island on our way home, we had trouble deciding between Jekyll and Tybee and we were really glad we went where we did.
But one thing I did want to see was the lighthouse at Tybee Island.
Then off to.......
yep, we were worn out and CRAZY!
for a 6:10 Central time 7:10 eastern time game.
Braves Vs. the Washington Nationals.
Grace made a sign with hommer.
Kacey wanted to go to the game, Grace not so much. but when we got there she loved it..
Since we arrived early she and Greg went to the Nickelodeon kids park and played, I read my book and Kacey had her phone!
Greg's not much on the beach, he enjoys it but it's not his first choice. He knows the girls and I love it so he never complains so this was his night!
And he was happy...
he wanted to come to see this guy
The girls and I enjoyed the food!
He also wanted to see this guy..
Hudson vs. Strasbourg....
so he tells me Strasbourg (not sure I am spelling that right) is a rookie and
a really great pitcher, it was his first time to pitch at Turner field and it was supposed to be a big match up.... Turns out he wasn't the only one with this in mind.
The crowd was the second largest of the year only surpassed by opening day!
Grace was a mess!
Micheal Waldrop led the crowd in Take me out to the ball game during the 7th inning stretch...
He should really just stick to driving..
But they won 5-0
And after a wait in the parking lot to get out for a long while we were on the road, we got home around 1:30 in the morning....
But we had a blast and life is good!
Just another day in Paradise!

After our own church service and devotion, my husband found the couch, TV with Nascar and was happy to sit....
The girls and I ate our lunch and stayed the rest of the day being lazy!

I love when they seem so happy together.

Mud Girl!

There are warning signs at the beach we were at saying at high tide water over sandbar creates strong current, Caution advised, when we first got there we were like what sandbar... at low tide we could see it.... People out there walking on it....
Me: Grace lets walk out there
Grace: No, I've seen shark week and know that sharks love to hang out at sandbars, seriously Mama it is like a fish buffet for them....
On the sandbar
Grace doing a cartwheel on the sandbar!

It went a long way out, we didn't make it to the end, because a thunderstorm was brewing... and it started to thunder and you know Grace and thunder! And yes, I waded out to the sandbar with Camera above my head to protect it!
And that night after seafood, we played putt putt!
For the Narrell's vacations almost always include putt putt!
Its a tradition!
Then we went for a night walk.
On driftwood beach.
the girls had a ball, running chasing and playing hide and seek.

On the way back to the Villa we saw at least 10 deer.
Then we got back to the room and went out on the balcony to watch the lighting in the distance. And saw more deer with a baby.
We had a blast. But I'll just put a note of real in here....
After two days on a bike and tennis and then walking the beaches endlessly By Sunday night I truly believed I had really done something to my knee. I was down to crawling up the stairs in the Villa to get to the bedrooms. Turned out I was having muscle spasms in my knee from all the going..... Getting old is for the birds!

Sunday...

So being sore, what do we do the next day, get up and go again...
Around the marsh path...
Around by the ocean
And lagoons...
A little spooky, just don't stop on the trail, keep peddling...
especially when this is on both sides of you!
And since we know Jekyll has Alligators...
But it is pretty
in a swampy kind of way!
Once Grace ran off the trail and back on, I had a mini stroke as I yelled
"Do you want to be Gator bait"
It wasn't that bad, maybe but take no chances!
We never rode to the alligator pond, but that's probably a good thing.
We had lots of fun and made some great memories.

There I'm convinced that something is in the water moving....

Saturday night

Guess where we ate, the Driftwood Bistro! Again! But we liked it!
Then we sat and watched the dolphins play in the water at the covered boardwalk

We stayed out until way past dark. Watched the lighting and rain over the water and tried to let our bodies recover from our earlier adventures!
