State Technology Competition! Grace

Friday after work, Greg, Kacey and Grace and I headed to Montgomery for State Technology Competition.  Grace won Second in North Alabama Region with Emma so they qualified for State.  What a fun experience.  I'm so glad the Lord has blessed this sweet girl with opportunities he has.
The weather held for us to get there Rain free.... thank you Lord!  :)
WE got there around 8 and by 8:15 she had found her friends at the pool.  Kacey went for oh about 10 minutes...  she enjoyed the hot tub on her sore muscles but she was not loving being the only one about 12 there so she went back to the room with her Daddy!  When Grace and I went up to the room at 10:30 they were both in the beds asleep...  I think our pace is catching up with some Narrells!
First of all the above pictures does not make my heart happy their are boys in that picture!  eeekkkkk!
The picture below was of some of the girls and the boys went under water for it.... I think it is a good sign they still don't want their pictures made together.
The competition was Saturday morning at the University of Auburn's Montgomery campus.
She and Emma did great.  Their category was the largest one there.
 Being judged.
After they were judged Grace and I hung around inside for awhile and then we were ready for some lunch so we went looking for our other half and we found them like this in a grove of trees...  Peaceful!
Grace wanted to enjoy for awhile!
Grace and a few of her sweet friends.
After we ate we came back and still had a couple of hours before the closing program.  We found a pond and shade trees to hang out under.  Greg and Grace got in chairs and read and Kacey and I got on a blanket on the ground and slept.... Heavenly!
Kacey kept eyeing the tennis courts!
After the closing we headed back to the Grove!  Union Grove that is with a pit stop at Peach Park!

We got home around 8 and we were ready for some home time!
We are loving life but still find we are more than a little tired.  :)
Busy week ahead the Narrell's could use your prayers!
Just Another day in Paradise!

Sweet Sisters!

Yesterday when we left 4-H, Grace asked if she could use her winnings to buy Kacey a surprise!  :)
So we ran to Dollar General and she spend everything she had.
And bought the sweetest card, I may or may not have just cried on the spot in DG...
It was about how much she admired and looked up to her and well it was precious!
She just wanted to do a congratulations sweet sister gift!
Make my Momma heart proud!

I love these two sweet girls so much!

A panda Pillow pet, buggles, candy and a key Chain!

I love these sweet sisters!!  :)

4-H County Round up!

I took off today and spent the day with Grace at the 4-H County Round up!
I'm sure work is beginning to wonder if I'm ever coming back!  :)
Grace placed second in the 15 dollar challenge!
 Receiving her Award!
After she was judged we left and went to the orthodontist.  She had spacers put in.
Then we hit CiCi's before the soreness set it!
Macaroni Pizza makes her a happy girl.  Well, that and the cinnamon rolls and brownies!
Again, my pictures are all out of whack.... oh well!  I've learned to embrace being different!
During judging.... parents aren't allowed to be in the room.  The challenge is to buy and outfit for under 15 dollars.  and document where and how much you spend.  Shoes and accessories are not part of the challenge but Grace spent 2.00 on the dress.  She and her Dad bought it at TESA!  Good choice Dad!  We bought the shoes for $5 at Plato's closet and the earrings were 1.25 at TESA!  So her entire outfit was only $8.25 but she only had to claim $2 of it!  She was a happy girl!
Congratulations sweet Girl!

Extra Pictures

Kacey Narrell, of Arab High School, attempts a return but lands awkwardly on her ankle during the 2013 AHSAA 5A Alabama State Tennis tournament Monday, April 22, 2013 at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Ala. Play was stopped and she was given medical attention before play resumed. (Eric Schultz / eschultz@al.com)
The top two shots are when Kacey rolled her ankle.  The photographer walked up when it was over and asked for her information, he said he was three courts over and zoomed in on her when she went for the shot and then saw her fall.  These were on AL.com.   Kacey was less than pleased about these.  :)

State Champs Part IV

Proud Sister, "I'm so glad you didn't make me go to school!" "I'm glad I didn't miss this!

 Proud Papa!

They wanted pictures, so we did!

So proud of you girls!
Congratulations!!!

Day 2 Championship! Part III

These two are awesome... Alana the coach and Greg Black who has been giving the girls lessons.  He took two days off work to come watch support and pace!  they paced like expectant parents the whole match!
I didn't move and tried not to talk except for the occasional sign to Papaw to hush!  :)
he was up behind the court watching from a distance.  I was at the side and it was the most quite I've been in a match all year...  they won 6-1, 3-6, 6-4!  I was praying we would not go into a third set because I wasn't sure we could hold out but they held their own.  I don't think the second set would have been 3-6 had they called a line judge but the Arab Fan Club complained for them!  As soon as that last ball hit the net these girls lost it... I wish I had gotten the whole thing but what I did get was on my cell phone.  my camera was up under the tent and nobody wanted to miss anything to go get it.  this is the first one I got, after we all celebrated and those two locked up in the biggest hug ever!
State Champs!
The one above is before it was over, I don't know how they get out of order loading but they do, Alana giving them the don't let up speech during the first set.

Again out of order but the top one was when a few had made it out on the court but the picture below was before the handshakes were already made and notice who was already on the court.  Alana's last match as Arab's tennis coach and she was thrilled..  Arab's first Tennis champs that we know of.
Before they were done shaking hands Alana had them from around the back!!  :)
Coach Black (JV Coach and possibly Arab's Varsity Coach next year) Greg Black (gives them lessons) Alexis, Kacey, Alana and Phil (Assistant, he also gave Kacey her first lessons)
Kacey and Phil...  no words, she had to fight him for her spot.
