Thursday Morning we left for Dothan, we stopped to shop and eat to avoid tornado warnings in the Troy/Dothan area.
Friday Morning started the Tournament. It was held at the Westgate Tennis Center. It's an awesome facility. 20 courts 2 championship courts with TV standard lighting.
Kacey and Alexis
Warming up The Team and their Coach. Kacey was the only one with old shoes on... Everyone else regretted it! Clay courts are terrible on shoes!
hanging out before matches.
Coach giving her prematch pep talk!
Listening to the tournament Director.
Doubles with Brandy
They lost in the semifinals but played so well and hard! I was so proud of the girls!
Kacey won her first doubles. She won the first set 6-4. Her second set she won 6 -1 after a brief medical delay. Kacey's coach had to ask for a brief medical delay. Kacey got hot and sick to her stomach and started getting very light headed. She was able to sit, drink and get something else on her stomach and finish and finish well.
Serving
She ended up losing her singles in the semifinals as well but again. She played a tough competitor and played well and played hard... I am so proud of her.
Before the next round of doubles she was able to lay down for a break.
11 hours and a lighting delay later they called it for the night.... we were supposed to be back at 8 this morning to try to finish but Dothan was still under a tornado watch and the weather had not moved through there yet completely so they called the tournament and we got a early start home. On Friday when they were playing we were getting damage reports from Huntsville from the storms... I was so thankful it never got bad at home.
I enjoyed a great weekend with Kacey and she improved greatly... It also helped her confidence and play. Thank you Lord for a good weekend and safe travel home.
Happy Saturday... now to sleep!!!
