Mobbs School Road as well as Alabama is forever changed.
Our road has 121 houses 73 have damage ranging from a Tree or two to just being gone.
The couple in this house were in the basement.
One house destroyed and one with just shingle damage.
Wednesday morning as the girls and I huddled in the hall closet we had a call from Greg a tornado had passed them. They were fine. No power.. but he said it's headed your way. Stay in the closet.. and we did and through out the day we visited the closet/community shelter and church basement. 3 that passed so close.
2 on the ground and one that at least while with us stayed above ground.
It was a long day. We were out of power for 6 days. Greg was out of work 8 days and I've not gone back yet. It impacted everyone.
We've seen pictures of other areas. It still makes me nauseated.
National Guard units still on our roads. We've spent days helping neighbors and friends. We've help carry limbs and cook meals. Help with a clothes drop off station. Knowing that the only difference between them and us was less than a qtr of a mile. It went down our road and then the house behind us was hit. Our neighbors said they watched one pass over our house right above tree level. We were blessed and I pray we help in some small way to bless others. Thank you Lord for our blessings.
