Saturday!

This has been a busy Saturday!
Picture of the start of Project : I'm tired of being embarrassed over my flower beds!
30 bags of mulch and we ran out before we finished!
Before: Mulch but after we weeded... It was bad with all the house projects it was sorely neglected. More than ever before...
After:
Much Better
Hmmm now the sidewalk needs pressure washing... oh well another day!
And now for Pizza and the game... Hmmm so far not much of a game our tigers are getting stomped!
Maybe the second half will be better! Not sure it could be worse...

Happy Saturday!

God's Building Program

My devotion this morning was about God's timing and his plan...
the last paragraph is so powerful...

It reads on more than one occasion I have had to admit that I don't have the foggiest idea about what He is up to. He is God and I am not. (WOW - He is God we are not~ why do try to control what is not ours to control) I don't understand: (a Mom of two sweet girls injured - a family that loses its connection to one another, or a sick child that can't get back to normal, and our church family broken and trying to figure out how to heal) What I do know from the Scriptures is that God has a unique purpose for every person and for every thing that happens to us. I have come to the conclusion that either He is the sovereign God, totally in control, or He is not in control at all (which I do not believe at all). He is in total control... nothing is a surprise to him. He knew where our church family would be today and he has it all under control... if we only let him.

~~~~~~~~
Here is the whole devotion in case you want to read:
Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on a rock. MATTHEW 7:24
This is a true story.
In the 1870s, when the citizens of Swan Quarter, North Carolina, began looking for a piece of property for a new Methodist church building, their sights fell on a nice piece of elevated land where the structure would be reasonably protected from coastal flooding. But the landowner had more lucrative plans for the property and declined their offer.
So the church was built on another site and dedicated on September 16, 1876. Within a matter of days, however, a monster hurricane reached landfall at this precise location. One casualty of the storm was the brand-new Swan Quarter United Methodist Church, which was lifted up off its pilings by the surging tide of storm water and was carried north—floating, intact—and then inexplicably east, eventually coming to rest on the very tract of land its leaders had originally requested. As legend tells it, the property owner came with trembling hand to sign over the title deed to the church.
Yes, God is in control. Since 1968, as I have attempted to walk with God, on more than one occasion I have had to admit that I don't have the foggiest idea about what He is up to. He is God and I am not. I don't understand: infertility or the loss of a child, a chronic or terminal illness, the death of a young mom or dad, and a thousand other things that make zero sense, humanly.
What I do know from the Scriptures is that God has a unique purpose for every person and for every thing that happens to us. I have come to the conclusion that either He is the sovereign God, totally in control, or He is not in control at all (which I do not believe at all). He made us to trust Him, regardless of the circumstances. And that is reflected in the new name of that Methodist church in North Carolina that God moved to solid ground: Providence United Methodist Church.
WHAT A WEEK ~ and it's not over!
Thursday ~ I am so ready for some calmness! Aren't you? Has your week been crazy as well!
Ours started on Saturday night when I was all excited over a night where we were all going to be at home, TV, football, life was calm and quite... cue the scary music!
Kacey had gone with a friend to a tennis tournament, she didn't play only was there to watch and cheer her on, and for the mall trip afterwards! On their way home she started getting a dull headache, and had been a little dizzy off and on. She has lots of sinus trouble so she thought nothing more of it.. In a span of about 20 minutes I got a text saying come get me, I feel bad to Stephanie calling and saying Paige, she is sick..... She said one minute she was sitting on the couch playing the next laying crying with 103 fever.... WHAT! I was almost there when her mom called and I helped her to the car, all while she was staggering and crying holding her head... We went straight to the ER. She wanted her Daddy ~ literally and so within 15 minutes he had dropped Grace off and was with us...
Strep negative
flu negative
Urinalysis good
They took X-rays and sent her home with Antibiotics, new sinus medicine and fever/pain reducer. I've never seen her that sick... She went home and slept. Fever broke still nursing a headache on Sunday and by Monday was complaining more of throat/stomach pain. So on Tuesday we went to her dr and he was convinced it was Mono but Praise the Lord it was negative so it seems it was a bad sinus infection/and she had a virus, even on Tuesday her tonsils and lymph nodes were swollen and she is still complaining of pain under her shoulder blades, and ribs pray it exits soon and that No other Narrell's inherit the sickness!
Thankful Thursday!
Today is the day that the Lord has made so I will rejoice and be glad in it!
I read this on a blog this morning.....
I've heard it said before...The most miserable person is not an unsaved person. It's one who has been redeemed by the blood of Christ but has fell out of fellowship with the Lord.
WOW! Please Lord keep me close! I don't want to be discouraged I want to keep my fellowship with you fresh and renewed! Keep me on the path YOU have for me.
Have a great Thursday all, I promise to try to blog more soon, I've been a little busy lately! :-)
Furniture!
I forgot to take a picture when it was all white...
I bought a old wicker cabinet to put in the bathroom to store all the hair bands/rollers/straighteners and everything else that girls need!
So here is a picture mid process.. when I remembered.
And I also found this set of furniture for Grace, I wasn't sure she would like it but when I took her back to look at it she loved it! It was the dresser/chest of drawers/two night stands, and the bed.
It also had the matching bed but it was a full size and she wasn't ready to give up the extra room from having a twin so we have it in storage for the time being.
This is my favorite piece.
And the cabinet is a little larger than I had pictured but it serves it's purpose!
Happy Monday.
