Silent doesn't have to mean silence!

Yesterday I was home when the girls got home. Grace went to her room and put her backpack up and came back to me. I looked down and noticed those eyes were so full of tears they couldn't help but to start spilling over at any minute.

Little lip quiver. Momma I have to serve silent lunch tomorrow.

Me: Grace it's okay, what happened.

Grace: I did my homework on my spelling words but I forgot the challenge words so I have to sit by myself tomorrow in the middle of the lunch room during lunch.

Me: You know what baby, you are human and you are going to make mistakes, just be careful next time and make sure you got everything but it will be okay.

Grace: But I've never had to do that before and everybody will be looking at me

Me: Well you know what let them look and see you sitting there with a smile on your face. See you have to serve Silent lunch but it doesn't mean you have to be silent, it might just be the best lunch you've ever had. You have to keep your mouth quite but not your head and your heart. See you can work on your scripture memorization, or recite the verses you know to yourself. You can sing... You can sit and smile and just have a wonderful lunch, it will go by so fast. Sometimes when Momma has a problem or something isn't going right I run to the phone to call my friend but sometimes she isn't there and that's when I can hear Jesus say, "I'm here and I want to be your best friend, and I will never leave you." So then I have a little talk with Jesus, silent lunch maybe God's way of saying Grace will you have lunch with me?

so you let them look and you smile and find Joy because when they ask why you are smiling alone you can tell them you had lunch with Jesus!

Have a little talk with Jesus to make things right...

Grace: And I also have the mile run tomorrow.. I hate that.

Well run and recite, I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me.

Or pretend you are being chased by a snake...

But smile! And find Joy in your journey!

I can't wait to see how lunch went!

Weekend....

Weekend happenings..

Friday night I helped paint a bathroom at church. Had a blast... Who knew painting could be fun and stress relieving... fought the crickets with Ethan and Lawson!

Went to tennis match at 9:30 pm... that started at noon ;-) finally got to leave with our sun burned girl around 11! Went thru a drive thru late and forgot there was life after 10.. Remembered how old we are getting! Slept late, went to a game to watch that Kacey was not in, ate lunch with a family that at the time I wasn't sure of their names. ;-) Softball, shopped, a Car wash, a baby shower, cleaned and a youth event. Shared the best evening with dear friends that it doesn't matter what we do, even when we are tired and all lay all over the living room we still have fun and love being together. church, flower bed, took a long nap, church and Moms... We did a little of everthing this weekend.

Just another day in Paradise,

no other place I'd rather be!

Wednesday!

With no pictures... can you believe it...

Monday all our activities were cancelled with some storms that came through with the exception of Grace's batting practice, which Greg takes care of anyway. It was so wonderful to be home so early and in pj's with some cleaning and rest on the menu.

~~

Yesterday was a busy day. Kacey had a makeup tennis match in Boaz that I didn't realize was scheduled for yesterday and she forgot... NICE! So I got a call and left work early to take her uniform to her, I got some errands ran though, so that was nice. It was a Gorgeous day!

I forgot my camera, but she and Alexis won Doubles 10 - 3

and Kacey won her singles 6- 2

She is 21 - 3 on the year.

After Tennis we had a parent meeting at the High school to talk about her 4 year plan. Can you believe we are headed to high school... Praying our family up... Changes are a coming!

Sunday, April 3, 2011

For years I've had peace about it... I knew this day would come.

But it still is a little overwhelming.

Today Greg accepted the Call to preach, please pray for our family as we set on this new journey.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.' Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

~~

'Courage is not the absence of fear, but the presence of faith.' Be strong, God said, and courageous. We can do this because He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. He stands with us in battle, and He sits with us . He never leaves our side. Never.

~~

Dear Lord, thank You that You stand beside us today as we face this new journey. Thank You that we are not alone. Would You take our fear and replace it with faith? You have said that You will never leave us nor forsake us. You have told us not to be afraid or discouraged. We believe that You will make us strong and courageous. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
