Already???

Don't tell me it is that time of year already!

Yes ~ today is opening day of Bow season for deer..... Oh Summer where did you go?

{Some of you women already know what this means}
Late nights & ridiculously early mornings.
Not allowed to wash with regular washing powder because it smells, you have to buy unscented.
Camouflage is not cute~
They practice sounds of the wild. I say they because my 8 year old can out turkey call any man!
Arrange calendars around the weekends.

Buying two sets of groceries, one for home and one for cabin.
And having heads on the wall.
Taking pic after pic after pic of gross things.
Hearing story after story about a buck that was so close, just not within range. He was "spooked".

And the scare he gets when that Owl flies up in the tree beside him...

And I heard something but it turned out to be a squirrel or some other animal not in season...

Okay. I'm not against "man" time. Really I'm not ~ I'm all for it. I think every guy has to have a hobby. Something he does that is not work related and gets him out of the house away from the kids to regroup. Every wife knows this makes for a happier husband.
All I'm saying is:
Why do we not have a season?
I mean seriously. Look at what we are missing out on. I just don't understand why we don't come up with a great season just for us!!!
Any ideas, and I'm not a shopper so that's out!

Weekend ~ Kacey

Can you believe October is already almost half over... Time is going too fast.
I hope you had a good weekend.
Friday night I and three other ladies braved the rain and storms for some food, fun and fellowship. Thank you ladies for the opportunity to get out and have some fun.
Saturday the Narrell's were lazy and watched way to much football... and much to our dismay Auburn didn't win.... But hopefully this weekend will be better.
But even with a loss we had a really nice relaxing family day and even played some games while watching the games....
We had a really good weekend and enjoyed some much needed family time and was able to get some rest.
Please pray for Kacey, she went back to the Dr today. She just can't shake the sinus stuff she has had for months. Today they gave her another round of antibiotics and if we are not better in a few days we go back. Pray she has some relief. She is still having headaches daily.


Philippians 4:6 Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Fall!

Can you believe it is October 7th.... What has happened to the time...

Thought I would share a glimpse of fall with you at the our home.

I get a little crazy about decorating, I love all the holidays but it is approaching my favorite time of the year. Our schedules are a little crazy right now so my prayer is to enjoy each day and moment and not to miss it because you don't get them back. I was reminded of this again this morning when driving the kids to school. I was driving and asking do you have this do you have that consumed in the "me" moment. But, Grace spent the entire time looking at the clouds, Look Momma that one looks like a jellyfish, and a dog... Look a mermaid... Look at that it looks like an armadillo...

We can learn so much from our kids.

Stop today and smell the roses, pumpkins or look at the clouds!

5k Race

The Narrell's don't normally race so for both girls to be involved in one in less than 2 days apart is unusual. Saturday Kacey's tennis team sponsored a 5K as a fund raiser. It was the first one the tennis team had participated in and still had around 60 people sign up.
Here are some of the girls from the tennis team.

The girls had to run, it wasn't an option for them. Although the only complaint I heard was that it was early! Since I helped we had to be there around 6:45.

I promised next year I'm going to try to be in shape enough to run with her.. We shall see!

Run the Race so that you have no regrets!

Last Thursday was the boosterthon fun run at the elementary school.

I'll start by saying there is a group of guys leading this event full of energy and they try to get these kids to run the race and keep their excitement level up. They have themed laps so that they always seem inspired to continue just one more lap.

They do everything possible to just keep motivating these kids..

They have a friend lap where you encourage your pals to just keep going!

At the start/finish line the teachers are lined up to check the lap off their shirt so they can track the number of times they go around.

It really made me stop and think about the ways I encourage my kids and how I can do a better job of it... We need to be encourager one another.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.

Kacey recieved her book and plaque in the mail on Tuesday for Who's Who a registry of Academic Excellance.
